The Sudanese Doctors’ Network stated that the missile strikes carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) over the past two days targeted strategic fuel depots in the city of Port Sudan, resulting in injuries to 17 people. Among them, nine suffered from suffocation and were transferred to city hospitals for treatment.
In a statement reviewed by Al-Hamish’s Voice on Wednesday, the Sudanese Doctors’ Network condemned the targeting of civilian facilities and vital infrastructure in Port Sudan, located in Red Sea State. The network warned that such actions pose a direct threat to the lives of over one million civilians and represent a dangerous escalation in the war as well as a continuation of violations against civilians.
The network also warned of potential health consequences, particularly for residents living near the burning fuel storage sites. It highlighted the dangers of inhaling toxic fumes and gases released by the fires. The network called on health authorities to declare a state of emergency in Port Sudan hospitals in preparation for any developments.
