On Friday morning, the RSF launched a violent attack on the Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur State from the southern and eastern fronts, in one of the fiercest assaults targeting civilians since the beginning of the war
In a statement received by Al-Hamish’s Voice, the Coordination of Resistance Committees in El Fasher said the attack resulted in the killing of 25 civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, in addition to a number of wounded. The complete shutdown of internet services for security reasons is making it difficult to accurately document the scale of the tragedy
In the same context, the RSF launched a swarm of suicide drones starting at 8 a.m., in conjunction with 120mm artillery shelling from the east and northeast of the city, along with the deployment of snipers in those same areas. By 5 p.m, the death toll had risen to 32, including 4 women and 10 children aged between one and five years. Seventeen others were injured and transferred to hospitals and health centers for treatment, while the shelling continues and drones are still flying over the city.
In an urgent appeal, the Resistance Coordination called on citizens to remain cautious and avoid moving in the streets to protect their lives, amid ongoing random attacks targeting residential neighborhoods and displacement camps.
The Coordination also sent a message to Sudanese people in the north, center, and east, urging them to share what is happening in El Fasher and to shed light on the massacres and violations, which it described as “countless and indescribable” It stressed that “silence is betrayal” adding that El Fasher will not forget those who ignored its calls and will continue to fight to the very last breath.
