The UAE has refused to acknowledge the existence of companies that were sanctioned by the United States last January, despite American evidence confirming their involvement in funding the Sudanese conflict.
In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Justice denied that these companies had obtained a business license or were engaged in activities within the country.
While the ministry confirmed it had launched immediate investigations following the U.S. notification, U.S. federal records indicate that the Treasury Department had already included these companies on the sanctions list based on evidence of their support for parties involved in the Sudanese conflict.
Among the companies listed in the sanctions are “Capital Tab Holding” and “Old Generation General Trading,” with documents showing that these companies operate from within the UAE, raising doubts about the credibility of the official UAE statements.
The sanctions imposed on these companies have been in effect since January 2025, highlighting the complexity of the relationship between the UAE and these companies and underscoring the need for intensive international investigations to verify the validity of these activities.
