Khartoum / Al-Hamish’s voice – September 10, 2025 – The Ministry of Energy strongly condemned the attacks carried out yesterday morning by the RSF militia, which targeted the Al-Merikhiyat power station and Khartoum refinery with several drones. The strikes focused on the control center, meters, gas tanks, and fuel pipelines connected to the Qari 3 station.
The Ministry affirmed that these assaults constitute a direct attack on electricity and fuel services that citizens rely on in their daily lives.
It further explained that its technical teams have already begun urgent maintenance at the affected sites in order to restore operations and ensure continued supply for the residents of Khartoum State, despite the challenging security conditions.
These developments come as part of a series of assaults carried out by the RSF against Sudan’s energy sector infrastructure. Just last week, an attack targeted the Heglig oil field and airport, resulting in the death of five people. Energy and oil facilities have also been subjected to repeated attacks over the past few months.
The Ministry of Energy believes that these “terrorist” operations are systematically aimed at disrupting vital services such as electricity and fuel, thereby worsening the suffering of citizens and threatening the stability of essential supplies in the country.
