Al Fashir / Al-Hamish’s Voice –September 18, 2025– More than 70 people were killed at dawn on Friday in an airstrike carried out by a drone belonging to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The attack targeted a mosque in the city of Al Fashir, the capital of North Darfur State, as worshippers were performing the fajr prayer.
The Abu Shouk Camp Emergency Room said in a statement that among the victims were the head of the camp’s Native Administration, Chef Adam Abdullah Sharaf, and King Sharif, the leader of the Dar Sueni administration, in addition to dozens of other civilians.
The massacre comes just one day after fierce clashes erupted in Al Fashir on Thursday, following a large-scale offensive launched by the RSF from the northern and northeastern axes, before being repelled by the Armed Forces and joint troops.
Since last year, the city of Al Fashir has been under a suffocating siege imposed by the RSF, which has led to an unprecedented deterioration in humanitarian conditions and the killing of hundreds of civilians.
Although the UN Security Council issued a resolution calling for the lifting of the siege and the opening of routes for the delivery of humanitarian aid, the RSF continue to block supplies and insist on asserting their control over the city.
