Al Fashir /Al Hamish’s Voice – September 30, 2025 – The Sudanese army announced on Tuesday the killing of foreign fighters of Colombian and Ukrainian nationalities in battles in the city of Al Fashir, North Darfur State.
In a field statement, the Armed Forces said its units set up a well-executed ambush inside the city, resulting in the killing of several of those fighters. Some were described as experts in operating drones and defense systems, while others attempted to take up positions as snipers within residential neighborhoods.
The statement noted that the clashes extended to the Karkar area east of Al Fashir, where senior commanders of the RSF militia were also killed. It stressed that the latest operation is part of what it described as a “series of field victories” for the army and joint forces.
The army accused the RSF militia of carrying out indiscriminate shelling on a displacement shelter in the city in retaliation for its losses, killing and injuring civilians, including women and children.
These developments come amid escalating military tensions in the Darfur region, as humanitarian organizations continue to warn of a looming catastrophe with the ongoing siege and attacks on civilians in Al Fashir.
