Khartoum – Al Hamish’s Voice – October 18, 2025
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said in brief remarks made in the city of Atbara, Nile River State, that “there will be no negotiations with any party at the expense of Sudan’s interests.” He affirmed that any dialogue or negotiation must aim to end the war and restore the country’s unity and national dignity.
Al-Burhan added that the Armed Forces “do not target specific tribes or regions,” but rather “confront the enemy wherever it may be found,” stressing that the army “will continue to fulfill its duty in protecting the country and preserving its unity.”
He affirmed that “anyone who seeks peace and places the interests of the Sudanese people above all else will be welcomed,” but rejected any attempts “to impose peace or a government on a people who reject it.”
He noted that the Armed Forces have made great sacrifices to preserve the country’s sovereignty, security, and stability, stressing that they will remain “the safety valve” of Sudan in the face of dangers and challenges.
Al-Burhan’s statements come at a time when the Sudanese arena is witnessing intensive diplomatic activity, amid increasing regional and international efforts to launch a new negotiation process between the army and the RSF militia, led by the Quartet group, which includes the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates.
These statements also coincide with the ongoing fighting in several states, most notably North Darfur, where local and international calls are mounting for a ceasefire and for allowing the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged areas, particularly the city of Al Fashir, which is facing a severe humanitarian crisis.
