Al Fashir / Al-Hamish’s Voice – October 11, 2025
An artillery shelling targeting Dar Al-Arqam displacement center in the city of Al Fashir on Saturday morning resulted in the killing and injury of dozens of civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, in one of the deadliest attacks since the escalation of fighting in North Darfur.
The spokesperson for the Zamzam displacement camp told Al Hamish’s Voice that the center, which was sheltering more than 30 people, was “almost completely targeted” by a drone belonging to the RSF militia. He added that the fire is still consuming parts of the building and that rescue operations are facing major difficulties.
He added that most of the victims were displaced people who had fled from the fighting around the city, and that their temporary shelters inside the center were completely destroyed. Meanwhile, ambulance teams and volunteers are still trying to reach the wounded trapped under the rubble.
This bombing comes just one day after a series of similar attacks targeted residential neighborhoods in the city, bringing the civilian death toll this week to dozens of dead and injured, according to local medical sources.
For months, the city of Al Fashir has been experiencing deteriorating humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing siege and exchange of shelling, amid United Nations warnings of an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe” in Darfur if attacks against civilians are not stopped.
