The Emergency Room in the city of Kabkabiya has warned of a worsening humanitarian situation following the arrival of 200 displaced families over the past ten days, who fled intensifying clashes in El Fasher, the Zamzam camp, and other war-torn areas across Darfur.
In a statement received by Al-Hamish’s Voice, the Emergency Room explained that the newly displaced are living in dire conditions, suffering from severe shortages of food, medicine, shelter, and clothing, amid an almost complete absence of humanitarian aid leaving their fate uncertain in the absence of urgent intervention.
The Emergency Room issued an appeal to the people of Kabkabiya and all those able to help, urging them to contribute whatever they can food supplies, drinking water, medicine, clothing (especially for women and children), and hygiene items to ease the suffering of families who arrived exhausted and lacking the basic means of survival.
The Emergency Room also called on local and international humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately and provide aid and relief, stressing that any delay in response could lead to a new humanitarian catastrophe, adding to the ongoing tragedies unfolding in Darfur.
