Moscow / Al Hamish’s Voice – September 24, 2025 – Sudan and Russia signed a number of memorandums of understanding today, Wednesday, aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of transport, banking, training, and capacity building. The agreements were concluded during the opening session of the 8th meeting of the Sudanese-Russian Joint Ministerial Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation, held in Moscow.
Sudan’s Minister of Minerals, Nour Al Daim Mohamed Ahmed Taha, affirmed that the agreements also expand cooperation to cover the sectors of economy, industry, energy, agriculture, health, education, media, space, and telecommunications. He noted that relations between the two countries will mark their 70th anniversary next year.
The session was attended by Russia’s Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Development, Alexander Kozlov, along with a number of senior officials from both sides. The two parties stressed the importance of political will in advancing bilateral partnerships.
The meetings come at a critical time ahead of the upcoming Russian-Arab Summit, where Sudan’s Sovereign Council Chairman, Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The agreements are anticipated to contribute to strengthening political and economic dialogue between the two countries.
