Al Fashir/ Al Hamish’s Voice– Saturday, October 4, 2025 – Sudanese journalist Al Nour Suleiman Al Nour, who worked for the Sudanese Radio and Television Corporation, was killed early Saturday after succumbing to injuries he sustained in an artillery strike by the RSF targeting residential neighborhoods in Al Fashir, the capital of North Darfur State, according to medical and media sources.
The sources said the shelling late Friday targeted densely populated civilian areas inside the city, killing and injuring several residents. Among the victims was journalist Al Nour Suleiman, who was rushed to hospital and underwent emergency surgery before passing away in the early hours of Saturday.
The late journalist was considered one of the prominent media figures in Darfur, having worked for many years with the National Radio and Television Corporation.
The killing of journalist Al Nour Suleiman comes amid escalating attacks by the RSF on the city of Al Fashir in recent weeks, which have left dozens of civilians dead and wounded and caused widespread destruction to public facilities and shelters.
The Sudanese Journalists’ Union, along with international human rights organizations, called for urgent protection for civilians and media professionals, and for an international investigation into the targeting of journalists in conflict zones, urging an immediate halt to the indiscriminate shelling of the city.
