The local emergency room in Al-Tina revealed that dozens of children arrived in the town without their parents, after losing them during the attack or while fleeing.
The room reported that some of these children have become orphans or were separated from their families, while others were arrested by the RSF, with some still being held in unknown conditions. This has led to a state of anxiety and despair among their families, who continue to search for them.
In a statement received by Al-Hamish’s Voice, the Emergency Room added that several underage children were taken off displacement vehicles and detained at checkpoints by the RSF. A number of them remain in custody to this day, while their mothers live in constant worry, searching for any information about their unknown fate.
According to the report, the number of displaced people who have arrived in Al-Tina has exceeded 20,000, with hundreds continuing to cross daily some on foot through perilous journeys. The Emergency Room described the humanitarian conditions of the displaced as “tragic”, amid an almost total absence of basic services.
Gunshot wounds have also been reported among the displaced, particularly those from Zamzam Camp, without any access to medical care. Some cases are extremely critical, including pregnant women in need of urgent surgical intervention and underage girls in severe health conditions. The lack of sanitary pads has further worsened the suffering.
The Emergency Room noted that it is doing everything it can, in coordination with the North Darfur Emergency Rooms Council, to contain the humanitarian disaster. However, it is facing major challenges due to the lack of sufficient international aid, and it called on humanitarian organizations to take urgent action.
