The official spokesperson for the Zamzam IDP camp in El Fasher, Mohamed Khamis Douda, revealed that the RSF detained a group of survivors from the organization ‘Relief International’ after they fled a bloody attack that had targeted their colleagues in the camp.
Douda explained that these workers were on their way to the Tawila area in execution of a decision issued by the organization’s headquarters in the United States to evacuate them, along with Relief International staff based in El Fasher, out of Sudan. However, the RSF intercepted them and falsely accused them of belonging to the Sudanese army and aiding the escape of officers.
Douda indicated that the fate of the employees remains unknown to this moment, amid growing concerns for their lives, especially after the RSF recently killed several civilian youths and mutilated their bodies on El Fasher -Tawila road – an act he described as brutal and inhumane.
Douda called on international organizations and the parties that pledged to secure evacuation routes to assume their responsibilities, urging immediate intervention to rescue humanitarian workers and to ensure the safety of civilians in conflict-affected areas.
