In a notable diplomatic meeting held in Moscow on Monday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed developments in Sudan and Syria with the UAE Ambassador to Russia, Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber. The talks also covered recent updates on the situation in Palestine and bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to an official statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, reviewed by Al-Hamish’s Voice the talks were held at the request of the Emirati ambassador. The meeting included “an in-depth discussion on prospects for strengthening Russian-Emirati relations traditionally described as a strategic partnership as well as an exchange of views on key regional and international issues.”
The meeting paid special attention to the situation in Sudan, which is experiencing one of its most complex political and humanitarian crises, as well as the Syrian file, which continues to hold a prominent place on the regional diplomatic agenda.
These talks come at a critical time for the region, amid escalating conflicts and overlapping international agendas making Russian-Emirati coordination a key factor in the geopolitical balance in the Middle East and Africa.
